R&D Technologist I
Job PurposeCreate new and modify existing cookie and bar offerings for Rise Baking Company, functioning as the subject-matterexpert in the research and development of system processes for product commercialization.Essential Functionso Collaborate with Sales in product development efforts to create high quality, innovative products that appeal tocustomerso Process sample requestso Develop or replicate products/flavors for customer requestso Assist in implementing projects involving product improvement, cost reduction, GMP compliance, food safety,and employee safetyo Organize and complete shelf life evaluations including organoleptic assessmentso Compile and analyze data to summarize results from personal and team analyseso Engage with Operations, Engineering, and Quality Assurance to ensure all product formulations, processes, andspecifications meet defined standardso Support new item setups including plant tests and pilot runso Work closely with and provide technical support to other departments within the Company including QualityAssurance, Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Saleso Document and draw conclusions/next steps from experimental results or production trialso Further knowledge in new materials, processes, and equipment to enhance the technical understanding of theR&D teamo Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedureso Perform other job-related duties as assignedQualifications (Education/Experience)o Bachelor's degree in food science or related field with 1-3 years of food science experienceo Strong passion for science and creative problem solvingo Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office programs:
